How Soda Blasting
Soda blasting is a method of removing surface contaminates and coating by using sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
This is a surface Preparation technique that is an environmentally friendly replacement to conventional sand blasting or chemical stripping.
This technique is often the perferred method of cleaning
The softness and friable nature (2.5 Mohs' Hardness Scale) of baking Soda produces a unique cutting action with little or no effect on most substrates.
Compressed air from a specialized blasting machine propels particles against the surface to be cleaned. As the sodium bicarbonate particles come in contact with the surface, it removes the contaminate or coating.
Sodium bicarbinate particles remove contaminants by the energy released when the particles explode as they come in contact with the surface
Soda blasting does not damage the base material.
Effectively de-coats and cleans the substrate in one step, producing a level of surface cleanliness not seen before.
